If you wish to take part in this event, please read below.
Vocalists
Singers and duos will be allowed a maximum of 15 minutes; this will probably amount to 3 or 4 songs depending on song length. The Committee would ask that you time each of your songs to ensure you do not go over your time allocation. All backing tracks must be on CD or mini disc and placed in a clear cellophane sleeve. This must be marked with your name, song list in order of what you are singing, and track number's. Please note that re-writeable CD's or copies will not always play on some CD player's. To avoid this happening to you try and purchase good quality backing tracks or record your copies onto mini disc.
Bands
All bands will be allowed a maximum of 20 minutes performing time, on top of this will be 5 minutes set up time (25 minutes in total). This year all bands will be offered a late afternoon or early evening slot. Please note that on stage at all times will be a standard drum kit (you must supply your own snare and cymbals) and a digital piano. You must also supply all other instruments, except Mics. The PA system is provided by us.
Choirs and Orchestras
Choirs Orchestras will be allowed a maximum of 40 minutes depending on the size of the group. On top of this time you will also have 5 minutes to set up (45 minutes in total). It is absolutely fine if you do not require the full time allocation, but due to scheduling we would ask you to time your set and make the Musical Director aware of this.
Choice of material and time allocation
All performers are asked to think about their choice of material. For example if you are a solo singer, please pick two upbeat songs and one ballad; if you are a band please include a real mixture of upbeat and slow songs. Any bad language or anything offensive within a song will not be tolerated and the singer/band will be asked to leave the stage. Please remember that this is a family event. All acts must strictly adhere to performing times as the schedule must be maintained, we will not allow anyone to overrun. Please remember that the festival is for everyone to enjoy and each performer deserves to be given their chance to get up on stage and to perform.
Confirmed artists for 2010 will appear within the section marked 2010 Festival.
