The festival was the idea of local councillor Dolores Powell.  Her vision was to create an event which would show case musical talent in the local community and focus on developing these performers.  Gradually she  set up a committee and local singer and vocal coach Jamie Spencer took on the role of Musical Director.  From thereon in things began to move at a tremendous pace.

Oldland Music festival was set up as a community based organisation and any proceeds are ploughed back into the local community.  It is hoped that the festival will continue to be a success for many years to come.
